A 34 year old Marlin man died while en route to Scott and White Hospital Temple after his car struck a tractor trailer one mile north of Calverton Highway 6. County officials seek raises at the budget hearing on August 30 at the courthouse. Proposed increases include County Judge 800 dollars, County Clerk 800, Tax Assessor-Collector 800, County Commissioners 1400, County Attorney 5000, Sheriff 855.98, County Treasurer 560, District Clerk 704. Pickup Crash Injures Cameron Man Near Culvert

Kenneth W. Cole of Cameron sustained a broken nose and facial cuts when his pickup went out of control and struck a culvert about three miles west of the city on Thursday afternoon. He was treated and released from a local hospital.
