Miss Mae Marshall aged 76 earned special honors as the oldest old maid at the Denton Old Maid’s Day event. Her sister Miss Julia Marshall, both former Cameron residents now living in Strawn, attended with other unwed women while North Texas State College instructor Miss Dorothy Babb led the festivities. The celebration drew wide town turnout with cameras flashing and a large birthday cake for 200 guests as civic leaders served.
