At Cameron Commercial Club meeting officials of the Santa Fe ordered enough gravel shipped to Cameron to replace the sand bed at the rear of and abutting the Santa Fe passenger station, relieving a longtime eye sore. The two 2x6 timber planks suggestion for bridge repairs also drew approval from County Judge W. G. Gillis and two commissioners.
