August 27 declared Pay the President Day with President Wilson urging subscribers to buy August stamps to support the war. Postmasters and agents stock stamps. receipts credit pledges. Milam County sold $961,000,000 in stamps last week in Texas. County Chairman orders weekly sales reports and school trustees kept in government service through December 31.
