Rev Benjamin Elrod Die Sunday At 73 In Houston
Funeral services for Rev Law rence Benjamin Elrod 73 former presiding Elder of the Marlin Methodist District were held in Houston. He died Sunday August 13 in a Houston hospital after a long illness. Born in Anderson County he entered the ministry in 1900 after Vanderbilt training and served churches in Rusk Henderson Marshall Jacksonville Galveston Huntsville and Bryan. He retired in 1936 after four years at Bryan. He is survived by his widow two sons two daughters three grandchildren and three brothers.

Milam County reports 1146 transfers for 1989 40 term down from 1168 last year a drop of 22. Rural to Cameron transfers total 241 with 213 whites 28 colored down from 277 whites 17 colored last year.
