Bond sales in Cameron reach 951380.25 as of Thursday morning with bank subscriptions pending. Wednesday sales were 127312.25 and county quotas appear likely to be exceeded. Er C Cole, local chairman, praises workers for campaign success. Big bomber for Milam county and fighter planes are assured.
Oxsheer Smith of Citizens National Bank is praised as War Loan Director for four Texas counties Milam Bell Robertson and Leon for outstanding sales in the Second War Loan Drive. The article cites almost a million dollars in bonds from his city and notes total First War Loan purchases of 3,199,222 with banks subscribing 2,579,000.
A War Bond Rally will be held tonight at the Parish School in Marak. The Cameron business and civic leaders are urged to attend as Emory B. Camp, chairman of the County War Council, will speak and lead arrangements for a large crowd.

A photo of Mr. and Mrs Homer Conley was found in E. M. Cook'sBen Arnold field ten miles from their home, demolished by the April 8 cyclone. A surplus ration book belonging to R. C. Conley was found with the picture. The Herald received both items from Mr Cook. The photo is believed to show the couple shortly after marriage.
Staff Sergeant Fritz R Galler is stationed at Camp Maxey Texas after enlisting October 22 1943 as a volunteer. He has earned promotions and served in Fort San Houston San Antonio Camp Willis and Camp Maxey while assigned to infantry. His brother Private Alfred H Galler is a prisoner of war captured in the Philippine Islands during the Japanese attack.
Buckholts native Pvt. Alfred H. Galler listed as prisoner of war after the Japanese attack on the Philippines. Enlisted 1941 trained in San Diego and served at Ft. Mills. His family, including Sgt. Fritz R. Galler at Camp Maxey, had waited for word until a War Department notice on February 23 confirmed his capture. The Kaiser era note mentions two Galler sons in service.
An Easter Service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at First Methodist church. The annual inter denominational observance will close city business from 12 to 3 p.m. in line with a long local custom. The Easter season continues through Sunday with widespread Good Friday observances.

Mayor E. A. Camp of Rockdale visited Cameron on Tuesday along with W. E. Kuzel of Buckholts who came to Cameron on business.
