Funnel clouds spotted around Cameron Calvert and more fires reported
The Waco weather bureau logged two funnel clouds near Cameron and Calvert Tuesday evening. A Cameron police unit observed one funnel cloud northeast of the city. A Roy Wohleb home near Oak Hill Cemetery burned out Saturday night and firefighters fought the blaze into Sunday morning. Police Chief Felipe Martinez said the dog shot on school grounds was not rabid after its head was tested in Austin. An American Red Cross reorganizational meeting is planned for April 30 at 7 30 p.m. in the Rockdale State Bank community room to discuss Milam County Chapter ideas.

Illness Sends Absences Over Week at Cameron Schools
Absenteeism rose at Ada Henderson and Cameron Junior High due to a viral infection. Dr. C G Swift Milam County Health Director said fevers lasted four to five days. Ada Henderson had 71 absences Monday and 60 Tuesday while Cameron Junior High reported 74 and 68. Yee High and Ben Milam schools remained near normal. Patients were advised to stay home until fever-free.

Milam County saw 23 rural highway crashes in March 1973 with no deaths and 10 injuries. For the year to date 1973 there have been 46 accidents with no fatalities and 22 injuries in Milam County.
