Yee High Junior Historians Win State Meet Awards
Twenty one members of Yee High School Junior Historian Chapter 103 attended the state meeting in San Antonio April 11 12 and brought home multiple awards. Melissa Delany won first in the special writing contest energy crisis Pioneer Dream A Modern Miracle. Lauren Edmonds took third for Railroads in Milam County. Linda Hughes placed sixth in the general writing contest Four Weekend Tours of Milam County. Ribbons earned in the Exhibits Contest included Brenda Gilbert second for Texas Fashions 1875 1915 and honorable mentions for Melissa Delany Dollies of An Unusual Kind Lee Dodd Trapping and Richard Raymond Tools. The Yee Chapter earned Honor Chapter and received a trophy. A slide on the Yee High History Fair was shown at sponsor breakfast. president Lynn Willy performed at Fiesta Mixer and attended the Saturday morning breakfast.

DWI Charges Amass After Weekend Cameron Crashes
Weekend crashes in Cameron led to DWI charges against Terry Taylor 20 of Cameron after a rear end with a patrol car driven by Police Chief Felipe Martinez on Farm Road 485. Taylor faces four DWI counts and was jailed. Anastasiades of Rosebud was charged with DWI and leaving the scene after a Fourth Street collision with Craig White of Cameron. Mike Young of Cameron was hospitalized after a car crash with Ricky Sapp of Cameron on 12th and Washington.

Students to Attend Nuclear Science Symposium at UT Austin

The event is sponsored by UT and the Texas Atomic Energy Research Foundation, with sponsorship from Texas Power & Light Company.
