Funeral services for Mrs Phillip Anderson were held Sunday in Calvert with interment at Calvert Cemetery. The body was returned to the family home by Green Funeral Home on Saturday. The Rev. R Gage Lloyd conducted the services. Mrs Anderson died in Calvert on Friday, April 10.

Pioneer Fred Boeker died at 4 a m Monday April 13 1942 at his Cameron home after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the family residence with Green Funeral Home directing. Rev K Kalkbrenner of Vogelsang Lutheran church will conduct the service. Interment planned.

Stanley Swift was elected President of the Cameron School Board on Thursday night with Charles E. Allday as Vice President and Drayton McLane as Secretary. Roy Law and Charles Allday joined as new members, replacing retiring H. H. Stedman and O. B. Horstmann. The board voted to abolish all standing committees, with teachers to be elected by the board in session and no recommendation from a Teachers Committee.

The Texas Highway Department awarded contracts totaling about a half million dollars for 23.5 miles of Highway 190 in Bell County. Budgets include 9.2 miles from Coryell line to near Killeen for 262,661.97 and 14.2 miles from Milam line to Temple for 223,265. The Cameron city area is not included in this construction. Two Red Cross nutrition courses start April 20 at Yee High School homemaking department in Cameron. Afternoon class runs 2 to 4 pm and evening class 8 to 9 pm, both meeting 2 hours daily for two weeks to total 20 hours. Mrs. Moody and Mrs. Green teach. Miss Hollis and Miss Jennings lead the other class. The Red Cross Food and Nutrition Manual is the main text.
