Longtime Cameron editor J B White hailed in Milam County
Funeral services recalled a life of public service for J B White a Cameron editor publisher and former mayor born December 20 1892 in Karnes County Texas He edited the Nixon News later bought it raised to editor age 18 served in WWI joined San Antonio Express and moved to Cameron in 1919 He chaired Milam County Democratic Executive Committee for about 16 years led welfare efforts under Governor Ferguson and influenced Milam County development His wife two sons a daughter six grandchildren and other relatives survive his tribute notes his intellect courage and community leadership with Rotary Presbyterian and Knights of Pythias ties He was buried in Nixon following services in Cameron and Nixon.

Milam County conducted a tuberculosis survey with 4876 X-Rays taken across Cameron Rockdale and Thorndale. County Chairman Hinton Pruett noted 2994 in Cameron 1148 in Rockdale and 734 in Thorndale. 206 more than last year.
Milam County TB X-Ray Drive Expands Across Towns
A total of 1,148 people received free X-Rays at Rockdale for the Present TB X-Ray Unit Survey, with the unit slated to visit Thorndale Cameron and Milam County on March 27 to April 3. County Chairman Hinton Pruett urged all residents over 15 to participate to secure a permanent unit if 5,000 X-Rays are collected this year.

Former Citizen Here Dies In Lubbock
Jesse Kilpatrick 65 of Lubbock died at home Monday March 26 after an extended illness. He was formerly of Cameron and active in the Baptist church. Survived by his widow Mrs. Jes se Kilpatrick two daughters Mrs. C. W. Reynold and Mrs. Kenneth Drake both of Lubbock two sons Billy Kilpatrick and Allen Kilpatrick of Lubbock and Odessa three brothers Marshall of Olney Clarence Kilpatrick of Los Angeles and Rev Lester Kilpatrick of St Louis one sister Mrs H C Tindall of Cameron four grandchildren. Funeral at the Baptist church in Lubbock at 10 30 a m Wednesday March 28.

Sam Hohenstein Buried In Oklahoma
Sam J. Hohenstein 74, noted geologist of Cameron, died Monday night April 2 1951. Born 1877 in Coodys Bluff Oklahoma he worked ranches in Oklahoma and drilled Milam County oil wells before returning to Oklahoma then Cameron. He was married twice to Grace Childress and Grace survived with two children Lyle Hohenstein Shawnee and Mrs E H Prue San Antonio. Chapel services held April 3 with burial in Chelsea Oklahoma.
