Members of Sarah McCalla Chapter D A R met at 3 p m Tuesday at Mrs Pearl Green Clement's home. America was sung, the Lord's Prayer recited, retiring regent S Henderson praised members, registrar P Cross commended, Clement named new regent, year book committee appointed, advisory council created for future matters.
The final prep for a Registration of the Women of Cameron and Milam County details qualifications and service readiness for a potential national call. Mrs. W. G. Gillis leads the committee with local women and business leaders urged to display flags, promote patriotism, and place D A R placards to protect the flag. The meeting also covered Lexington’s 1775 battle and April American history dates, with salad tea served by Mrs. Idella Edwards Green.
The Methodist Missionary Society held a monthly business session at the Cameron church. Rev. W. C. Harbin the new pastor led devotions. Committees were appointed to visit the sick and strangers in Cameron. Plans for future activities were set and social service work received emphasis. Mesdames Crow and King of Port O Connor visited.
John R. Young proprietor of the Cameron Red Cross Drug Store assigns all property with exemptions to a named assignee for creditor settlement. Creditors must consent within four months and file claims within six months at Cameron Milam County Texas. Several local notices follow including personnel moves and a rainfall report of 1.36 inches.
F. T. Cawood of Danville Illinois offers to sell 10 shares of Guarantee State Bank of Gause Texas for cash. He paid 1500 dollars for the stock over three years ago and has never drawn a dividend, so he will sell with any accrued earnings. 49-11
