The Gause Volunteer Fire Department hosts a Saturday fundraiser at 11 a.m. with beef brisket sausage and chicken plates, bake sale, barbecued goodness, washer and horseshoe tournaments, and a meet and greet. Nearby, Gause ISD invites the public to meet new superintendent Perry Bell on Thursday 4:30–5:30 p.m. Perry Bell starts June 1. Area man keeps asbestos case alive in Texas court
A Rockdale man with mesothelioma, aided by Cappolino Dodd Krebs LLP, fights Alcoa’s bid to move his case to federal court. The Texas suit argues Alcoa knowingly exposed workers to asbestos and delayed informing them. The trial in Cameron is expected this spring.
