Milam County lifts burn ban and office hours shift
Milam County Commission voted to lift the burn ban. The Cameron Driver License Office will operate Monday Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. with driving tests 1 to 2 p.m. The office is in the Milam County Law Enforcement Center. Birthdays list for April 3-9 and four area obituaries are noted in this edition.

Suspect arrested in weekend Cameron shooting
Enrique Luna, 22, of Cameron, turned himself in to Cameron police and was arrested on an arrest warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bail set at 75000. Victim Renee Lopez Jr., 20, remained in stable condition after emergency surgery for a shattered femur and arterial injury. The weapon remains unidentified and Luna faces 2 to 20 years if convicted.
