The 4 H club of Washington two met at the school house on July 20 with 25 members. Demonstrations were given. The next meeting on August 3 will host local judging and demonstration contests.
A Chinese philosopher’s line on experience as a god given comb is linked to safe driving. The text warns against distractions, worn tires, and depleted lubrication, praising foresight courtesy and caution as keys to accident free motoring.
Grover Whalen declares the 1939 World's Fair will feature the largest area and most varied amusements ever at an exposition. A two mile looped strip along Meadow Lake will host a 70 foot facade, landscaped shores, and a $1.6 million state amphitheatre for aquatic shows and performances.
The new grade school at Delphi is nearly finished and will be ready for the fall term. Mrs. C. E. Rice, at St. Vincents hospital Indianapolis, underwent a goiter removal operation last week. Rev. Aschanhart and Flora scouts plan a week outing to Roths camp on the Tippecanoe river starting Sunday. Mrs. Fred Launtz, near Deer Creek, was taken to Cass County hospital by Baker ambulance Saturday in serious condition. Carroll county common school fund received 1 662 55 from the semiannual state allocation, with Floyd I McMurry noting total distributions to all counties at 390 082.
The Delphinium 4-H Club of Deer Creek township met at the county agents office on July 21 with 7 members. Three girls expect to attend camp. The club name was changed back to Delphinium from Hoosier. The next meeting is August 5.
The Happy Heart Club of Democrat Township held its meeting at the church in Cutler on July 21. Members answered the roll with a favorite picnic dish and the Sheets sisters presented a special number. Demonstrations were well received. The next meeting is scheduled for August 3 at Frank Fort Park.
