Symphony Season Co presents Dr. Koussevitsky conducting Sibelius Second Symphony in D major and Brahms Fourth with an unchanged orchestra roster except for three new members. Attendance this year dipped despite concerns over radio broadcasts.
The special committee on taxation released figures on 42 successful primary nominees. Of these, 29 endorsed the Four-Year Plan for Tax Reduction in the Voters' Guide, one opposed it, eleven were on the fence, and seven did not answer. Twenty-seven nominees received favorable ratings, eight were not impressive, and seven did not respond. The note ends with a question about a Central Sq business man who forgot to settle his bet on the recent fight.
A fragmentary OCR shows numerous Cambridge based clubs and associations such as the Lincoln Club, Cambridge League of Women Voters, Cambridge Board of Trade, Zonta Club, Cambridge Civic League, and various business and apartment owners groups. The text suggests a catalog of local civic organizations and societies active in Cambridge.

The imitations copied Cambridge Citizens Committee wording including slates for School Committee and Councillors at Large with one altered name. Past miscounts in Ward 5 fueled renewed scrutiny of election integrity and Hillis’s reelection.
The Cambridge League of Women Voters holds its first regular luncheon Monday October 28 at 12 30 at the Hotel Continental. Mayoral and school committee candidates will speak on schools and a referendum on selling Cambridge Tuberculosis Hospital to the County will be explained.
More than 30,000 voters cast ballots in the elimination, setting a primary record with 32,106 votes. John D. Lynch led the mayoralty race with 12,047, while City Council President John W. Lyons edged City Treasurer William J. Shea by 425 votes. A recount was set to start Friday October 18 if results change. Lyons would oppose Lynch in the November 5 election. Francia J. Roche disappointed supporters with a weak showing.
