Gas station hearing fuels protest at Mass Ave site

The License Board heard Standard Oil of New York seek a second class garage with two bays and covered pits at 929 to 043 Mass Ave amid objections from landlord Charles K. Farring and attorney C H Fidalgo. Residents complained of noise and graft allegations while police opposed a pool room license and a store’s Sunday sales. The Cambridge Industrial Trust won approval to store 18000 gallons of fuel oil in two 9000 gallon tanks at State Street. Several one and two car garages were approved.

Auto Parking Public Hearing Next Tuesday
