Fairview Carpenter Injured In Fall At Charley Aults House
Waller smith a carpenter from near Smerna fell from the feet of Charley Aults house sustaining serious internal injuries. Back believed broken. Doctors Zeviats of Freeport and Wither espeen attend. Accident occurred this evening. He is in critical condition at Mr Aults home. Also note: a Sunday burial of the instant son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rosengrant. An electrical storm Sunday night struck several buildings including William Coles home but caused no serious damage. Miss Mary Morton visiting Pitseburg relatives.

Death of James Simons at residence in South Cambridge

Judge Jesse W. Hollingsworth died at his home in St. Clairsville Ohio after a long illness from sarcoma. He was a Belmont County prosecutor and judge, active in Republican politics and church work. Survived by wife Anna White he had a lifetime of public service and community leadership. Funeral services were planned for Monday at one o'clock.

The third annual fall entertainment opened Friday in Quaker City under auspicious circumstances. Crowds arrived early and filled the town square as bands played all day. Events included a canoeing and concert, a race with a spoon and stone, and a baseball and basketball showcase. Ora Dolson won the spoon race. Doherty won the ball game. In the Belmont versus Calais baseball game, Calais lost 3 to 2 after a late scoring burst by Belmont. Carpenter, Calais pitcher, split two fingers while fielding a hot ball.
