In Bloomington Illinois on November 26 two men robbed the Clinton state bank of 2200 in coin and currency. They forced the president cashier and bookkeeper into the vault, left 1500 in silver behind in the hotel room, and fled after a near suffocation of bank officials. Authorities organized a posse and searched the countryside. Charles Parker provided vault combination relief and freed the prisoners.
