Albany May 22 The attorney general held a hearing on W R Hearst's application for a recount of votes for mayor of New York City. Clarence Shearn Hearst's notary argued that Hearst received the most ballots and that miscounts intimidation and conspiracy by certain election officials justify the recount. He cited 600 of 1948 districts with miscounts and said bipartisan boards often were a sham.
