Real Estate Boom Forecast Along New Ohio Road Line
A proposal to pave the old National road from the Ohio river at Belmont county to Ohio western line sparks talk of dividing farms into acre plots sold on the town lot plan. Cities and towns would attract owners to build country homes with gardens dairies and small farms boosted by electric railways and autos. State highway commissioner Marker backs the idea, noting eastern states with scenic routes and wealthy growth. Guernsey county farms would supply prime sites for these mini estates, turning Central Ohio into a paradise for art industry and wealth.

Business Outlook for 1914 Encouraging Across Industries
Inquiries for new railroad cars reach about 35000 with orders for 3000000 tons of steel rails planned for maintenance and extensions in 1914. Tin plate orders total 6000000 boxes earlier in the year, with large buyers like Standard Oil and canning industries consuming much more. Pig iron inquiries exceed 53000 tons for early 1914 delivery as agricultural implement makers seek next year’s material. New England woolen mills work overtime, earnings look strong, and overall industry activity shows broad encouragement for industrious areas. Farmers enjoy better crop values, offsetting any production decline.
