A large congregation gathered at the U B church on Sunday evening for a jubilee meeting that marked the cancellation of the church debt. The mortgage and four notes paid recently were burned in the presence of the grateful parishioners who had raised over $1,000 in the last quarter led by Rev. White. A special program followed with hymns, readings, a sermon from the text We Will Not Forsake the House of Our God, and remarks by J C Archer. The pastor and committee thanked all contributors.

Unconcerned Slavic Man Charged With Lore City Murder
John Galya, a Slav, was jailed in Lore City on a murder charge after a Saturday night quarrel with his best friend Mike Gatowalo near the B and O tracks. Gatowalo died at a Columbus hospital after being wounded in the right side by a 32 caliber revolver. Galya, speaking broken English, claimed self defense and denied waiting for Gatowalo. witnesses were absent and sheriff officials noted his calm reaction to the death.
