Last year Saukvagatuck moved about 10 000 baskets daily. this season the figure drops to 400 to 1 000 baskets. Apples are less scarce with a packer contracted to supply 10 000 barrels to an eastern firm.

In Cheyenne Wyoming on September 13 five accomplices and Frank Watson were arrested in Lusk, ending a year long theft spree that netted about 2 000 horses. The gang crippled cattle outfits. Watson, Casper city marshal and Converse County deputy, led the ring and fought when seized. Sixty stolen horses were found in a Casper camp. The gang reportedly stole eighty horses last month.
