Peculiar eight petal dahlia from Newcomerstown
Mrs Bagnall offers a rare dahlia with eight petals split evenly scarlet and white and a large corn colored center. The stalk also bears two other dahlias white and scarlet, a mystery for scientists. Local notes on enrollment career moves and a census of events
George A Redd greeted his many friends here last Saturday. The three lower rooms of our schools now have an enrollment of 200 scholars. W P Meighen has gone to Canton Ohio to engage in keeping books in that city. DS Burt's public sale last Saturday was a success. Receipts amounted to over 2006 dollars. Welk Nelson returned home from an extended visit in Virginia Monday evening. Eight of nine applicants present received certificates. Messrs Hail and Finley have dissolved and the latter will carry on the old firm. Many gazed upon the B and O trains that passed through here last week with a wild surprise and a deep tremor. Communion services at the M E church next Sabbath. College Day Services at the M P church two weeks from last Sabbath. Death waved his flashing sword spinal meningitis in the home of Elmer Burt and wife of this place last Sabbath morning and quietly nipped the youngest flower of the family. That beautiful flower had just begun to bud and will bloom forever in the land of no death.
