The new through service connects Toledo with Bowerston and links with the Pennsylvania System for eastern points. Through car service runs between Toledo Cambridge Marietta and Bowerston, and between Akron Youngstown Pittsburgh and Chicago. Deadwood mine explosion kills four and injures one
A box of thirty pounds of giant powder exploded in the 300 level of the Caledonia mine in Deadwood Dakota. Four men were killed instantly and another fatally injured. The bodies of the dead were blown to pieces and removed in barrels. Five men had slept on a powder box when a spark from a pipe ignited scraps.
