Four Men Lynched at Franklin County Jail
In Brookhaven Mississippi last Saturday a mob of about forty overpowered a jailer and hanged four black prisoners in the courthouse yard. One faced rape charges, two murder, and one arson robbery. Four others were in custody but not harmed. The mob warned the judge to clear the jail this term. This marks six lynchings in Franklin County in eighteen months.
