Pinapple, Nov. 5. William Cramp & Sons to build a dynamite gun cruiser for the government capable of twenty knots per hour and firing a 200 pound shell every two minutes. Cost not to exceed 37 000 dollars with refund if requirements unmet. Projectile launches from a steel tube at 1000 psi with remarkable accuracy at two miles. The shell carries 200 pounds of dynamite in a copper cartridge attached to a wooden shaft for stability.
Fire destroys Lancaster courthouse and probate offices
A New Lancaster court house and its court and jury rooms, probate registry of deeds, and Supreme Court offices burned completely yesterday. All county records reportedly lost. Donovan leaps from Niagara Bridge in 195 foot plunge
Lawrence M. Donovan, the New York pressman who drew attention by jumping from Brooklyn Bridge, leaped from the Niagara River suspension bridge a distance of 195 feet. He emerged badly injured with a broken rib and a dislocated rib, but survived and was treated by Dr. Campbell. He plans further jumps if he recovers.
