David Williams a coal miner in Scranon Pennsylvania died on the 3d from a mysterious cause. He had cut his hand with coal a day earlier and ingested mine sulphur leading to erysipelas. The case alarms fellow miners who regard it as singular.

Mrs Seguin wife of Dr Ed ward Seguin a noted brain specialist killed her three young children Ed ward D aged six John Van Duye aged five and Jeannette aged four then shot herself at No 41 West Twentieth Street New York October 31 The tragedy unfolded in an unused top floor room where she blindfolded the children restrained their hands with whip cords and killed them with three pistols before ending her own life The husband and family circle are described as shocked and grief stricken with doctors fearing temporary or permanent insanity for Dr Seguin.

Washington October 29 the stenographic report of Tariff Commission statements is nearly complete and will be typeset for distribution by the Government Printing Office within a week.
