Beers Sues Over Wabash Mortgage Foreclosure
Curiaco June 28. C H Beers holder of mortgage bonds of the Wabash St Louis and Pacific railway sues for foreclosure of a 34 500 000 mortgage given in 1880 to pay for the Chicago division. Beers says only 4 131 000 of bonds were authorized but 4 500 000 issued, defrauding holders of authorized bonds. Prison inmate shot trying to escape at Jona Mich
On the eve of release from the State House of Correction in Jona Michigan inmate Frank Wenland, serving a larceny sentence, attempted to escape yard work. Eight railroad laborers killed in Des Moines freight crash
