Exports of breadstuffs for the year ended December 31 1887 were 1 533 17689 dollars. National Home for Disabled Soldiers report to Congress

The board reports an average of 0,718 inmates last fiscal year, up 44 percent in five years. Branches are at capacity. only one or two should be enlarged. The Records of the Rebellion volume 21 will cover to December 31, 1862. Nominees for consul positions were sent to the Senate. A bill to raise invalid pensions to eight dollars monthly would affect 146,333 persons and cost $6,753,352 annually. The President also sent Envoy Bragg’s nomination to Mexico and seeks a US commissioner for the French Exposition with $290,000 funding.

Replies on wool list amid alarms from East Village fire

The Albany Journal reports that woolen manufacturers within a hundred miles mostly oppose removing raw wool from the free list. A large fire at East Village near Monroe Conn destroyed the almshouse and adjoining buildings, killing three inmates.
