London reports that the British man of war Tenedos is ordered to Harbor Grace Newfoundland to prevent a repeat of last year’s Orange riots during the Orangemen and St Stephen's Day celebration on December 26. Murder Returns to Gravelly Hill After Escape
A. J. Yates was murdered in Gravelly Hill Yell County by Grant Parent who fled to the Boston Mountains. He returned near the crime scene on Sunday and was tracked by a posse on Monday. After Parent fired on the officers, they shot him eleven times, ending his life. A $300 reward had been offered and his body was turned over to the Sheriff.
