Warencoo Iowa April 19 Robert Shidler of Manson and his wife were burned escaping a hay fire in a lumber wagon during a high wind. Mrs Shidler died in her husbands arms from clothing on fire and burns while Mr Shidler died days later from extensive injuries. He was 68 and she 64.
Norfock Virginia April 19 Captain Hezekiah Williams one of the oldest Virginian Pilots Association members died Wednesday night aged 72. A native of Middlesex County he served as a pilot on the ironclad Merrimac and was at the wheel during the engagement with Monitor at Hampton Roads in the late war.
The will of Mrs. W E Vanderbilt Allen daughter of Commodore Vanderbilt allocates an estate valued at 5 000 000 in six equal shares for her five living children and the children of her deceased son.
