The annual reunions for the Kimes No 4 and District No 6 rural schools will be held together at Web Rummel's grove northwest of town on Sunday July 16. Attendees from Jackson township schools are invited. A program organized by the school committees was planned at a meeting held at the Knorpp residence.
The Dublin Mothers club meets with Mrs. Carl Jackson and several area groups hold gatherings at homes in Dublin and nearby towns. Residents visit hospitals, attend church services, and enjoy family weekends with relatives across Richmond, Hagerstown, Milton, and Cambridge City.
The Jolly Bakers 4 H club met Tuesday June 20 at Doris Hunnicutt’s home with thirteen members answering roll call. Demonstrations included Marguerite Olvey on Graham Muffins and reading by Doris Hunnicutt. Next gathering is at Lorene Shutz’s Mount Auburn home on Friday June 23 at 1 30.
Mrs. Fred Davis and her daughters from New Castle visited relatives and friends here on Sunday.
Miss Betty Wiseman hosted her home as Miss Frances Bentley and Miss Wilma Bentley of New Castle visited for the weekend. Attendees at the W R C state convention in Huntington last week included Mrs. J H Ayres, Mrs. Harry Turner, Mrs. C F Jones, Mrs. Harvey Hoover, Mrs. Harvey Ridge, Mrs. James Philpott, Mrs. Nola Crook, Mrs. C A Wyer, Mrs. Ruth Sprong, Mr. and Mrs. Van Crawford, and Will Manlove.
Mr and Mrs Frank Reynolds along with children Dorothea and Bruce Urbahns and Patricia Martindale spent Friday in Rushville.
Mrs Harry Bachmann spent the weekend with her father C A Wimner and other relatives in Middletown Ohio.
Miss Lorena Mae Clifton spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Perry Paul at Lake Tippecanoe. Mrs. Robert Hussey of Connerville spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Estella McGath. Mr. and Mrs. Harrod Beeson and sons and Mr. and Mrs. El Beeson spent Sunday at Lake Celina, Ohio.
Mrs Richard Amrhein and Mrs Frank Smith visited relatives in Hagerstown on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Hall Vanderbeck entertained euchre guests last Saturday evening including Mr and Mrs Wm Wyer Connersville Mr and Mrs Russell Dickerson Dublin Mr and Mrs Chester Kellam New Lisbon Mr and Mrs Harold Beesor and Mr and Mrs Charles Vender beck.
A youth dancing club has been organized to teach dancing and foster socializing. The group met Wednesday evening at the Legion hall with all parents invited to attend the meetings.
The Frank C. Mosbaugh post No. 00 W R C met in the Legion hall Friday afternoon. A Flag Day program directed by Mrs. Edna Hangley and assisted by Mrs. Marie Howard was presented in an efficient and interesting manner. Punch and wafers were served to guests and members. Next meeting July 7.
Cambridge City and area residents are invited to Richmond June 27 28 and 29 to see a free civic minstrel show with Singin Sam Harry Frankel radio star entertaining at 7 30 p m Central time in Rich monds open air turf amphitheatre built at Heisers Station east of Pershing. The event follows his St Louis tour where he drew
Emerson Cloyd former superintendent of the Brookville schools has purchased the M. Henderson store in Brookville and took possession Monday. He and his family plan to move within two weeks. The community extends best wishes for their new venture and laments losing a valued local family. Mrs. F A Davis and son have returned home after two weeks with her parents Mr and Mrs E O Beeson. Mr and Mrs Sam Williams and family of Indianapolis were guests at the Martin Kel am home.
Mrs. Ollie Rummel plans a visit to her daughter Mrs. Perry Paul in Muncie at week’s end. Joseph Osborn of Muncie stayed overnight with Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Cain on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. John Timmons and their Richmond baby were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Clapper. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cornthwaite and baby from Richmond Virginia visit Arthur Cornthwaite’s family.
Miss Thelma McPheeters of Bedford came home Sunday after visiting the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Conner and their family for a week.
Sunday school and preaching are planned for June 25 in Ted Davis woods with a basket dinner at noon and no evening service. Dennis Murphy a former Cambridge City resident drowned while bathing in the St. Joseph river at Fort Wayne last week. New Castle faced a looming water famine after saloon closures, with heavy drain leaving little water. Arthur Demaree and family moved to Indianapolis. The Cambridge City band will play for the Fourth of July at Knightstown. A baby girl named Eulalia Beeson nearly drowned but was saved by her mother.
The Straughn community reports Children’s Day exercises at the Methodist church with a planned program and welcoming note. Sunday visits include Thomas Selmeir Jr with Crandall Jarvis. The Christian church Lender class to lead services and a sunset musical program invites all attendees. Walter Cook, visiting from Cincinnati, spent the weekend with his parents Mr and Mrs Will Cook while Mrs Cook recovers from illness. Miss Velma Reynolds and Byron Willis attend Ball State College commencement in Muncie as part of local sightings.

William Corcohran a well known horse trader and stock buyer of this city died by hanging in the county infirmary dairy barn last Friday. His body was found Saturday afternoon by an attendant. He was 76 years old and survived by five nephews in Atlanta and Tipton. Services were held Sunday at the Lutheran cemetery Pershing with Rev. McCormick in charge.
Mrs Rosanna Hilton aged 94 died Sunday at her home west of Bentonville. Survived by four daughters Mollie Taylor Hilton Va Dorotha Bettle Bentonville Stella Baxter Lewisville and Charlie Tristly Bentonville a son Luther Bentonville and 26 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Franklin church near Brookville with burial at Franklin.
The W C B C meets Wednesday afternoon at Mrs Reed's home with Mrs Fletcher Reed hosting. Members present include Response are Present Day Writers, a book review by Mrs Maude Jackson, an original poem by Mrs Ruby Powell, and a piano duet by Miss Evason and Mrs Mary Irwin. Bertha Gibbs visited Elizabeth Thatcher last week at her north town home.
