Lieutenant Governor L. W. Arburn visited the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis club and delivered an engaging address replacing the regular program. He spoke on high aims and purposes, quoting poets and authors to add charm, and received hearty applause from members.
The Psi Jota Xi anniversary dinner at Miss Margaret Griffin's country home near Spiceland featured a gold and blue theme and spring flowers. Retiring president Miss Margaret Beck received a gift, new officers Fern Ashbaugh and Margaret Griffin were installed, and committees were named for charity publicity program and more. The next meeting will be a mid month picnic hosted by several members, with summer inactivity noted and JulyAugust break.

Relatives and friends numbering 118 called at the home of Mrs. Jennie Macy and daughter Ethel last Sunday to honor Mrs. Macy's 80th birthday anniversary. Rev Frank Guyatt, Mrs Raymond Hunnicutt, Mrs Jacob Ingermann, Mrs Hugh Allen and the Hunnicutt orchestra appeared in songs and readings throughout the afternoon. Mrs. Macy is grateful to all who helped to make the occasion enjoyable and for the many remembrances sent her.

The Bach Mendelssohn Singers present a public performance of Elijah at the Christian Church on Tuesday June 23 at 8 p.m. The program lists soloists and choruses with details of role names and conductor director Harriet Overbeck. an offering will be taken to support library music collections.

Chester Bell 56 of Pershing died early Sunday in Henry County Hospital New Castle after several weeks illness. Survived by two sisters Mrs Grace Clark Centerville and Mrs Richard Locks this city a brother Claude Bell New Castle and several nieces and nephews.
