Maurice Ingermann has been named Milton postmaster succeeding Harry R. Manlove. Ingermann will be assisted by Manlove.
Sunday observances and visits across Greens Fork, Hagerstown, Dublin, New Castle, and surrounding farms. Residents attended Children’s Day exercises, birthday dinners, and club meetings. out-of-town relatives joined Misses Crye, Craig, and Hormel for social events and church programs.
Roger W. Babson reports in St. Louis that the Southwest shows improved farm income and rising business confidence. He cites 1935 crop gains, AAA payments, and favorable weather, noting Arkansas Oklahoma and Texas as improving industrial fronts with growing mineral output and tourism potential.

Mr and Mrs Emory Alexander and their son Howard spent Tuesday in Knightstown with his parents, returning with family pickup plans and remarks on the trip.

Mr and Mrs Jacob Irvin and sons Earl and Billie spent Sunday in Alexandria with relatives.
Mrs Grace Banta Reynolds of this city wife of Franklin S Reynolds was elected to the post at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland Ohio Reynolds defeated Mrs Eleanor Barker Snodgrass of Nashville to win the Hoosier delegation seat The from local result notes Reynolds was chosen Monday at a Hoosier delegation meeting during the convention period
A card party and barn dance are planned at the Ben Daniel farm south of Milton on route 1 Monday evening June 15 by St. Elizabeth church. Guests are invited to enjoy the hay loft and have a jolly good time.

News also notes hospital visits, graduations, club meetings, and relatives visiting from Richmond Indianapolis and Dayton.
Washington reports that the Alcohol Control Administrator has convened top experts to determine standard contents for gin in martinis and the amount of gin in cocktails. The resulting guide, a federal bartender's manual, will be published for five cents. The note hints at post election plans.
Maude M. Manlove traces early U S 40 development through Indiana from George Washington’s push for a national highway in 1784 to surveys in 1828 and 1849 50. She notes Vandalia Milton Centerville and Cambridge City, the Wayne County Turnpike Co. formation in 1848 and flagstone paving of Centerville in 1825.

Clarence Chase of Cambridge City earned a Master degree with a Cincinnati Music Hall ceremony last Friday evening. He started with eighty five in his class, forty five continued, and twenty five graduated. His mother Mrs. Clarence Chase and Mrs. Oscar Chase joined attendees. he has taught in Centerville schools for three years.
Cambridge Chapter No 9 Royal Arch Masons announces a stated convocation on Friday evening June 12 at 7 30 o clock Companions are advised to take note of the meeting schedule and time.
Miss Rhea Brooks daughter of Mr and Mrs Isaac Brooks of Jacksonburg married Bruce Abbott son of Mr and Mrs Will Abbott of Hagerstown in a June 3 1936 wedding at Woodruff Place Baptist church Indianapolis officiated by Rev Harry Rowe. Attendants were Dorothy Hoover and Arthur Dims. A six o clock dinner followed at the Columbia hotel Greenfield. The couple will reside in Hagerstown where the groom runs a business.
Mr and Mrs Clifford Howard attended the funeral of George Mack in Spencerville Ohio last Thursday.
Miss Helen Murray spent the past week in Indianapolis with her aunt.
Mr and Mrs Harry Bachmann and family attended a dinner Sunday at his mother’s home in Middletown Ohio to celebrate her eighty fourth birthday with relatives present.
Mr and Mrs William Clifton visited and dined with Mr and Mrs Frank Rummel and their daughter on Sunday in Indianapolis, sharing a family meal and conversation.
Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Stratton and their son Paul plan a Sunday departure for a two week visit with Mr. and Mrs. Everette Stratton in Houston Texas.
Josephine Bryan will spend two weeks with her aunt Mrs. Arles Byrum and the Byrum family in Cincinnati.
Mrs. Ethel Weber has been moved to the home of her parents in the southern part of the state seeking a beneficial change for her condition.
Mrs E O Paul will travel this month for a several weeks visit with Mrs Ella Forkner in Seattle Washington. She will stay with Mrs Forkner and tour nearby sights during the stay.

Helen Clifton and Maurice Runyon returned from the 4 H Junior Leadership conference held June 25 at the Marion Boy Scout camp. The Cambridge Kiwanis Club sponsored the trip and was thanked for its generosity to Cambridge City young people.
Barbara Sorber became the bride of Lee Crawford in a quiet single ring ceremony at the Sorber residence east of Milton. The couple, both Milton High graduates and Christian church members, will live on a farm south of town after a week in Kansas with Lawrence Crawford and his wife.

Mrs Minnie Cornell Clinginsmith dies at home in Douglas Arizona on May 17. She was the daughter of the late John Cornell and lived here until her marriage to Dr Clinginsmith.
Mrs. A Pusinelli and her daughters Kathryn and Elizabeth arrived from Indianapolis to their local home. Mrs. Pusinelli and Kathryn will remain for the summer while Elizabeth returned to Indianapolis in the evening.
Mrs. Roy Copeland hosted a dinner-bridge last Thursday with table service for a list of New Castle guests led by Mrs. A L Young and Mrs. Alice Hosier who won high score. Guests visited Overbeck pottery after the game.
The Lincoln high school band under Frederick W. Jaehne won first prize of 50 dollars in the Disabled American Veterans State Convention parade in Richmond. Drum major Robert Harmeier led the band down Richmond’s main street in sharp uniforms. Greensfork placed second.
Qua Quigg a colored young man at the Miller Ice and Dairy plant in the ice manufacturing department had his leg broken above the ankle when a 300 pound cake of ice he was removing from the brine slipped and struck him. He was taken to Reid hospital.
The Milton Christian church will observe Children’s Day on Sunday evening June 14 at 7:30 with a full program. The program lists readings songs and recitations by local children including Barbara Lois Kinnaman Johnny Ferris Raymond Bryant and many others. The community is invited to attend.
