Helena mining mill shows marked ore gains and copper yield
An old Helena ore reduction mill reports three weeks of trials proving higher ore recovery and copper content than prior runs. The operation shipped nearly $7,000 in ore to the Government assay office, with improvements expected to reduce quicksilver leaks and increase output from a very large vein. Eight workers operate the mine on two shifts, producing about seven tons of ore daily as concentrates await completion of concentrating works.

The Piro Organization and Fremen's Meeting Report
The Piro Organization reports a well attended Fremen meeting last week and measures to complete the company setup. A property tax in Butte is proposed to fund fire equipment with anticipated authority from the Littre act. Fifty five members are enrolled, a force large enough to respond to a fire, Emigrant Guich notes. Win. Lee visited town with about 55 ounces coarse gold from his Emigrant claim, sold to Rich & Willson and sent to Helena assay. 2 percent smelting loss, one eighth of one percent charges, bar sold at a 8 percent premium. The column expresses confidence in the gulch's future and promises further attention.
