Infant Damnation Stands in Southern Presbyterian Assembly
Louisville May 27 The General Assembly postponed for a year the proposed amendment to the church creed dealing with infant damnation. Progressive elements demanded clearer wording to state that children dying before baptism are not condemned. The amendment must be rewritten and approved by two thirds of the presbyteries before the next Assembly, with passage anticipated next year.
