Charles A. Anderson filed a $30,000 damage claim with the State Department in Washington for the death of his sister Hilda S. Anderson in 1900 when she was killed by Boxers in Mongolia province, China. Two of his sisters were killed in China. Hilda was naturalized in Rockford in 1897 and went there as a missionary for the Christian Alliance.
