Forsyth area hunter D. B. Erwin, 50, died after his 16 gauge shotgun discharged while he was tangled in a wire fence. Sheriff J. R. Grant said the accidental self infliction occurred Saturday near Forsyth in Monroe County.

Farmers who have not filed their two cent federal gas tax refund claim must do so by Monday. The deadline covers the period Jan 1 to July 1 of this year. Claims may be filed at the County Agent’s Office or with a local dealer between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
