Letters and telegrams since Monday bring glad tidings of safety for Taylor County people living in the Florida hurricane zone. Despite hardships the casualty list will likely omit relatives’ names, though the region is represented among storm victims nationwide.
Dr. L G Hardman of Commerce on a whirlwind campaign for governor halted Tuesday night in Butler at the West Hotel. He arrived late and greeted friends Wednesday morning before continuing to Hawkinsville and Cochran for further campaigning.

Walter McGinty 82 an employee of Junction City Manufacturing Company died after being thrown from a Ford truck on a steep grade near W Browns residence on the Junction City Howard road. The truck owner driver Jack Spinks said McGinty lost balance during a turn and fell overboard. He sustained a fatal head wound and a broken neck. Funeral services were held Sunday at Moote’s Chapel Cemetery with Rev H G Hobbs officiating. He leaves a widow and a three year old child. He was a Baptist and part of a visiting party from Junction City.
