Butler Male and Female College completed another successful year with its largest enrollment in history. Eight graduates received diplomas as Rev. H. O. Fowler delivered the commencement address. Baccalaureate sermons and a Miss Tippins music recital preceded a packed audience for the diploma ceremony. Faculty members were praised and some signaled re election while others planned to seek new positions.

Fitzgerald Site For Aviators Is Selected
Fitzgerald, May 24. The Fitzgerald Chamber of Commerce has secured designation of Fitzgerald as an official landing spot for the United States Aviation Corps and the government has accepted the site. The land spans fifty to one hundred acres on the central Dixie Highway route, near the city center, flat and clear of obstructions. The county labor force is busy preparing the field. First flight Monday at 2 30 p m Maj W C Wash will fly in with several machines and issue final instructions for landing the flyers. The field will be used daily once ready.
