News of Dr. W F Gann former Butler physician and beloved local figure who died at his Columbus home Friday at about 4:30 am. Born November 16 1851 in Chambers County Alabama he studied at Alabama Polytechnic Institute Atlanta Medical College and Louisville Medical College. He began practice in Columbus in 1880 making him the citys oldest practicing physician for many years. He was married to Lula Merriman a niece of B S Battle.
