Funeral Services Held at Rupert for Pvt Wm Peterman
The remains of Pvt. William Franklin Peterman arrived March 10 and were buried at Sand Bethel Church near Rupert with Fort Benning honor guards and Rev. Cross officiating. Born December 1, 1931 in Upson County Georgia, he enlisted over three years ago and served in Thatcham England before a February 1 accident. Surviving are his mother Mrs Mamie Floyd Peterman wife Mrs Geraldine Smith Peterman of Ft Worth Texas two children and brother Arthur Randall Peterman of Macon. Edwards Funeral Home directed arrangements.

Jury convicts Albert Fuller of murder in Phenix City case
A circuit court jury in Birmingham, Alabama, found former Chief Deputy Sheriff Albert Fuller guilty of first degree murder in the slaying of Attorney General nominee Albert Patterson in Phenix City. The 26 day trial ended after 6 hours 40 minutes of deliberation, with Fuller facing life in prison.

Flint Electric Membership Corporation of Reynolds moves to a 1,352,475 expansion program to boost service by 80 percent for 10,374 members. Cordele March 11 The body of a second drowning victim was recovered March 10 from Lake Blackshear near Cordele. Wiley Ellington, 34, of Macon, was found in the muddy lake near where he and W. N. Johnson, 33, drowned in a boating mishap. Two other Macon residents survived.
