Local notes show visitors and family gatherings across Butler and nearby towns. Activities include a Taylor County Summer School push, community events, and ongoing social functions as residents prepare for the July session and upcoming elections.
Gilbert C. Robinson states he will be at the court house in Ler, Georgia each Monday until further notice to address matters before Hon. O. T. Montfort who is confined to bed and unable to attend to his office duties.
Miss Susan Myrick suggests using excess peaches for canning marmalade and preserved peaches. Recipes: 24 peaches 4 oranges 3 4 pounds sugar. prepare, soak overnight, boil to marmalade consistency, jar hot. Also 4 quarts halved peaches 2 quarts sugar 1 quart water. peel, cook until tender about 45 minutes.
Peel and cube peaches then mix with orange pulp sliced peel sugar and raisins. Cook rapidly until bright and thick like jam. Stir in shelled nuts five minutes before end. Pack into jars and process 25 minutes at simmering. Recipe courtesy Miss Lowe Home Demonstration Agent Bibb County.

Annie Mathews a colored woman about 20 years old and trusted house servant in Butler households died Sunday night after several weeks with fever. She had served in some of the best families in the area.
