The 1945 wheat purchase program raises the price to 1.00 per bushel while oats loans and purchases set a 60 cent per bushel loan rate. Metter closes shops to pray for rain
Metter Georgia residents will shut stores and offices for ninety minutes on Tuesday to attend a prayer meeting at the Primitive Baptist Church at 11 30 a m. Elder Fred Hartley of Miami will lead the service with local preachers as drought cripples corn and tobacco crops in the Metter area.
