Tragedy on Potomac as Boat Collides With Passenger Vessel
Miss Helen Taft and a party of young women were returning to Washington when the Navy flagship Dolphin struck the power boat Culprit Fain at Alexandria Virginia. The Culprit Fain sank with three men aboard. two were rescued while Alexander Yellowlees remained missing after an hour of searching by Dolphin boats.

Slaying and suicide follow Pelham divorce dispute
In Pelham Georgia Dave Floyd shot his wife at her father’s house killing her instantly then shot and killed himself when cornered by the sheriff. The couple separated and were in a child custody suit won by the mother. The tragedy occurred on Commissioner Branch’s plantation about twelve miles east of Pelham.

Harrisburg Carriage Manufacturer In Fatal Viaduct Crash
An auto driven by C A Sefton, a Harrisburg carriage maker, sped off the Mulberry street viaduct, killing three people and injuring another fifty feet below on storage piles. The dead include Sefton and William R Harrar of Harrar and Chamberlain. Mrs. Robert W Dunlop and Miss Laura Neilson were among the injured.

Car slides 40 feet down mountain with child inside
Mr and Mrs John W Cocke of Birmingham Alabama were gathering wildflowers when their automobile began rolling off an embankment at Walker's Gap on Red Mountain. Mr Cocke leaped onto the running board as the car plunged forty feet to railroad tracks. The child John W Cocke Jr. sustained a crushed skull yet doctors say he will live. Mr Cocke endured facial injuries and bruises but they are not serious. The Cockes are a known traveling something.
