De la Huerta Named President Ad Interim of Mexico
Adolfo de la Huerta governor of Sonora was named president ad interim by an extraordinary congress session. He won 224 votes to 28 for Pablo Gonzales, with Gen Antonio Villareal as the other candidate. The Agua Prieta Plan delays the July 4 election to September 5 and makes him supreme head of the Liberal army. Washington reports indicate growing reaction to Carranza's death and possible opposition to Villa.
