Mrs. Jennie Scandrett Dies After Illness in Butler
Mrs Jennie Wallace Scandrett longtime Butler resident and civic worker died at the local hospital Saturday noon after about three weeks illness. She served as secretary of the Methodist Sunday school and treasurer of the Butler Water Works Co. She was active in church and community life and survived by four daughters, a brother Col H P Wallace and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 30 pm at the Baptist cemetery with Rev B A Martin officiating.

Miss Towson Speaks at Butler Methodist on Japan
Miss Mamie Towson of Americus delivered an 11 o clock Sunday talk at Butler Methodist Church. She sang several Japanese songs while wearing a traditional Japanese costume. The program delighted attendees and many hope for a future return to discuss Japan work.

Mr. Charles Taunton Dies in Macon After Operation
Charles Howard Taunton 68, a Reynolds farmer, died Tuesday in a Macon hospital after a major operation. Funeral services were held at his Reynolds home Wednesday at 3 pm with Rev. H. F. Jelks officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery. Survived by wife, two sons Louis Taunton of Thomaston and Irvin Taunton of Reynolds, and a sister Mrs M A Jones of Reynolds. Pallbearers: Jake Bryant, Clay Bryant, Jack Bryant, Lonnie Jones, Joe Cannon, Joy Jones.
