Columbus Ga sheriff J D McGlaun arrested Roberta Man on a warrant from Chattahoochee County indicting the passing of worthless checks. The business man Ray Florida Realty Agent was brought to Muscogee County jail due to limited Cusseta facilities. Bond set at 800 dollars. Checks totaling about 750 dollars reportedly plied on Cusseta Bank.

Six Negroes Hurt in Rock at Montezuma

Six laborers from Whitewater Power Company were injured in Montezuma Georgia on January 19 when a plank on a pole trailer broke, tossing workers to the ground. One man, John Sparks, was thought possibly fatally injured. doctors Muliney Richardson and Lightner treated the injured in nearby Ay Hagl.

Music entertains condemned youths in county jail

SGalimbis January 17 reports that condemned youths Willie Tones and Gergie Bloodworth were entertained by music in their cell after the Georgia governor refused to save their lives. Former County Citizen Dies At Fort Valley

John H. Smith aged 47 formerly of Taylor county died at Fort Valley January 14 after a several days illness from paralysis. Funeral services were held there and remains brought to Horeb Baptist Church in Howard for interment. He lived in the county most of his life, faced adversity with faith and honesty, was a Missionary Baptist Church member, and is survived by six daughters and one son. Fort Valley residents provided for funeral and burial expenses.

Posey Youth Dies of Pneumonia at Turner's Chapel

Mr Joe Mangham Posey age 20 son of Mr and Mrs J P Posey died this afternoon from pneumonia after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at Turner's Chapel by Rev M T Gaultney. The father mother and several brothers and sisters survive the bereaved family.

Train collision injures engineer near Geneva Georgia

In Columbus Georgia on January 17 a Central of Georgia passenger train No. 1 plowed into a caboose detached from freight No. 248 after following about 10 miles from Macon. Engineer T W Hines of Macon suffered a fractured arm and facial lacerations when he leaped from the engine. No other injuries reported among passengers or freight crew.

The event is to occur between 10:00 a m and 4:00 p m under court order, the last trial having been in Muscogee County after a venue change from Columbus.
