Chevrolet Junking Plan Aims to Cut Highway Hazards
Chevrolet Motor Co continues its junking program for all dilapidated autos. Thousands of old cars have been smashed since January to remove hazards on highways. W. E. Holler says the effort will reduce traffic danger as both used and new Chevrolet sales hit record levels this season.

Landis E. Braswell a 35 year old route manager for a local laundry was found fatally shot in his truck in Macon Georgia. A coroner's jury ruled the wound personal safety related. Braswell had lived in Macon ten years after moving from LaGrange.

Baltimore February 24 Former Maryland Governor Albert C Ritchie a prominent Democratic figure died suddenly at his Baltimore apartment in the early hours. He was 59. Ritchie a leading advocate of states rights opposed prohibition and became a national figure during the 18th Amendment era. He sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1932.

Columbus Ga Feb 26 George Harrison Trussell 52 of 1956 Hamilton road Columbus died suddenly from a heart attack Tuesday morning at Fort Benning while working as a foreman on a construction job. Dawson February 22. Rip Cooledge undertaker prepared for burial of D Holley, a Black prisoner jailed for bicycle theft. The coffin remnant box and clothes are missing. the body fled overnight from the jail ward, leaving the undertaker shocked. Holley, prone to trances that mimic death, was declared dead by a fellow prisoner.
