Funeral Held for Miss Clark in Roberta Ga
Miss Margaret Lucile Clark 19 died Tuesday at Wise Sanatorium Plains Ga after a long illness. She graduated from Americus Normal College last June and was noted for making the most progress in her girls class earning a gold medal. Survived by parents Mr. and Mrs. J T Clark and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. K P Bowe of Roberta and Mrs Georgiap Gp of Haddock plus two brothers and two sisters. Funeral at Roberta Methodist Church with Rev. Starnes and Rev. C M Brewer officiating. Active pallbearers were classmates. honorary pallbearers were junior girls from Roberta High School. She was a frequent visitor to Butler and left many saddened friends.

Busy five days session of court concluded in Taylor
The Taylor superior court special term, led by Judge Worrill, closed Friday after disposing of the Dewey and Johnson versus Butler Naval Stores Co. breach of contract case involving turpentine leases. Testimony spanned several days with many witnesses, the suit was dismissed without recoupment, and a defense recoupment request of 500 dollars was denied. Dr. Johnson testified he favored the defendant’s compliance with the contract. The term adjourned around 6 PM Friday with local officials and attorneys departing. Judge Worrill planned a weekend visit in Reynolds with Thurman Whatley, a Mercer classmate.

Fred S Singer, 73, a prominent Stewart County man, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday in a Plains hospital after a four month illness. He was once a director of the Fourth National Bank in Macon.
